Subhash Joshi assumes charge of DG BSF

Subhash Joshi, Indian Police Service (IPS), has taken over the charge of the director general, Border Security Force (BSF) on 19 December 2012.

Joshi belongs to the 1976 batch of the IPS and was allotted the Uttar Pradesh cadre and subsequently Uttarakhand cadre in the year 2000. Before joining the BSF, Joshi has served as director general in National Security Guards (NSG); special director general in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF); DGP in Uttarakhand; additional DG and inspector general Intelligence in Uttarakhand; deputy director at National Police Academy (NPA), Hyderabad; regional deputy inspector general of police at various ranges in UP and also as SSP and SP in various cities of UP.

Subhash Joshi has been decorated with Police Medal for Meritorious Service and President Police Medal for Distinguished Service in the year 1994 and 2000 respectively. He was also awarded ‘Samman Patra’ by the UP government in 1991.
